It was a typical, hectic day for Mrs. W. , a 40-year-old woman, until she fell in her driveway and broke her leg.  She had never broken a bone before and had no idea what to expect.  Luckily, she knew Diane and promptly called Everybody Needs A Nurse. . .

Diane received a call from Mr. W. who asked her to meet them in the emergency room. On her way to the ER, Diane made some calls to find the name of a good orthopedic surgeon, just in case surgery was going to be needed. Once it was decided that surgery was necessary, Diane prepared Mrs. W for what would be happening to her before, during and after her surgery. Diane was available to answer her questions by email or phone as well as visiting her at home.

After the surgery Diane gave Mrs. W advice on how best to take pain medications, what to eat and drink to prevent the constipation that often occurs after surgery and the best way to take a shower with a cast. Diane went to her first doctor’s appointment after the surgery and helped to interpret what was said and what the next steps were in the healing process. She also offered many additional bits of advice and encouragement that allowed for healing and peace of mind during her recovery process.

Mrs. W later told Diane that the most important part is that when you have Everybody Needs A Nurse in your corner, you don’t have to think of everything yourself. Mrs. W. made a good recovery and is back to her normal mobility.
