Everybody Needs A Nurse is a patient-education consulting service developed by Diane Halloran, RN, MPH.

With more than 40 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, 25 of those in outpatient care, Diane has expert knowledge of the health care system. Her listening skills and passion for people have been the hallmarks of her practice. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from St. Francis University in Joliet, Ill., and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Diane has worked in a number of outpatient specialty clinics and was a Director of Nursing in a 100-physician group practice in Cleveland, Ohio. Since moving to Chapel Hill in 1989, she has worked at Kaiser Permanente as a Clinical Supervisor and at UNC Hospitals in Urology, Nursing Education and Patient Education.

Diane realizes that patients often need more information and explanation from health care providers. Few patients are able to process the often complex information and ask all their questions within an appointment.

Her goal is to help you understand what is said, to let you know what resources are available in the community and to give you the emotional support you and your family need to make the best health care decisions possible for your journey ahead.
